An illegal immigrant caught for a second time with drugs has been sentenced for re-entering the U.S.
It was back in March 2010 Abraham DeLuna-Esparza was arrested after being found with 15 pounds of marijuana.
After spending time in jail, the Mexican resident was returned to the border and ordered not to re-enter the U.S. But this past December, he was found inside a home in South Bend. This time, federal court papers say agents and police found nearly 50 pounds of pot, along with a large about of cocaine and a handgun.
He's now been sentenced to 78 months in prison after pleading guilty to illegally re-entering the United States after being deported, as well as drug possession with intent to distribute.
